SPECIAL EFFECT
We want to help those that SPECIAL EFFECT work tirelessly to improve the quality of life for. A small donation added to your kit will add their logo to the sleeve so you too can proudly represent those in need of a helping hand.
"We’re transforming the lives of people with physical challenges right across the world through the innovative use of technology. At the core of this mission is our work to optimise inclusion, enjoyment and quality of life by helping people control video games to the best of their abilities for as long as they need us. Our team of occupational therapists and gaming specialists in the UK create bespoke control setups for hundreds of individuals each year, while our R&D team use what we learn in the field to develop freely-available resources and solutions to help level the playing field for gamers with physical challenges all over the world.
This mission of inclusion extends beyond gaming, whether that’s by using eye-gaze technology to bring communication, independence and hope for people in intensive care units with a severe injury or illness, or by using telepresent robots to reconnect medically isolated children with their education and friends. Whatever we do, we’re committed to making life better for the people that need us, for as long as possible. We’re transforming the lives of people with physical challenges right across the world through the innovative use of technology. The Ivy Holland Fund
We work alongside the Ivy Holland Fund by giving you the option to add the charity's logo to the sleeve of your kit in return for a donation that will go directly to the cause.
“In memory of our beautiful daughter, Ivy Rae, our family are committed to raising awareness & funds for three charities very close to our hearts.
We attended numerous scans during our twenty-eighth week of pregnancy, where Ivy was diagnosed with numerous severe heart defects. These included a Double Outlet Right Ventricle, a Ventricular Septal Defect, Transposed Arteries and Pulmonary Stenosis. Her life expectancy and quality of life was now not certain.
Our daughter was born sleeping on 19th October 2020.
Following investigations we were informed that Ivy had been diagnosed with an extremely rare chromosome disorder called 15q24 Microdeletion Syndrome. This disorder currently only affects 1 in 42,000 people & comes with an endless list of life changing symptoms and side effects, some manageable and some extremely severe. Ivy suffered from a number of the rarest and most severe side effects.
Her name lives on as a symbol of hope as we support three charities in her memory.”
